The Promoting Efficient Review for Modern Infrastructure Today (PERMIT) Act, is a package of commonsense reform to permitting processes under the Clean Water Act (CWA) that cut red tape, reduce costly project delays and unnecessary litigation, and provide certainty to our nation’s infrastructure builders, farmers, water utilities, and small businesses.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Patronis issues a statement regarding three separate plane crashes that happened this week in Florida. These crashes are currently under investigation.

Two separate single-engine aircraft made emergency landings on local roads in the Orlando area due to engine failures. Another crash involving a small plane in Pensacola is also under investigation. All three incidents resulted in no fatalities.

Today, Congressman Jimmy Patronis introduced the Warrior Road Act, a bill aimed at prioritizing critical roads, highways, and infrastructure projects nationwide. The bill would direct the Secretary of Transportation to develop a ranked list containing the three highest priority projects from each state based on their importance to civil or national defense. Such roads and highways are essential for ensuring the rapid and efficient movement of military personnel, first responders, and evacuees. The Warrior Road Act focuses on improving transportation routes used by military personnel and strengthening road infrastructure to support disaster response. As Florida’s First Congressional District is home to numerous military installations and evacuation routes, a greater national focus on supporting defense-related infrastructure will directly benefit the district.
