Congressman Patronis Issues Statement Following Tuesday’s State of the Union Address
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following President Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, Congressman Jimmy Patronis issued a statement commending the administration’s leadership in strengthening American security, revitalizing our economy, pushing for critical reforms, and standing up to global threats.
“The President reaffirmed what millions of hardworking Americans already know, peace comes from strength, and America is stronger, safer, and more prosperous than ever before,” said Congressman Patronis. “From rebuilding the strongest military, the world has ever seen to decisively confronting nuclear threats and confronting hostile regimes abroad, this administration continues to defend peace through strength.”
Patronis also emphasized ongoing efforts to ensure government accountability, including investigations into the use of autopen signatures, backing pro‑American tariffs to revitalize domestic industry, and securing stronger borders to protect our communities and uphold the rule of law. The Congressman thanked President Trump for holding Big Tech accountable and protecting rate payers from subsidizing data centers. “They’re already robbing our children of their futures, said Congressman Patronis. Now they’re trying to rob Americans' pocketbooks.”
On fiscal policy, Congressman Patronis praised the administration’s support for the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” including provisions that eliminate federal income taxes on tips and overtime pay. Congressman Patronis continued, “As a former restaurateur, I know firsthand how significant eliminating taxes on tips and overtime will be for small businesses and the hardworking Americans they employ. The new tax provisions include no tax on tips and no tax on overtime pay means more money stays in workers’ pockets. It's shocking that every Democrat voted against the American people to keep more of their hard-earned money.”
