***DAY #17: SCHUMER SHUTDOWN*** TRAVEL ADVISORY: Beware of Hate America Parade in Washington, D.C.

October 17, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jimmy Patronis held a virtual press conference [VIDEO HERE] and issued a travel advisory to Floridians traveling to Washington, D.C., urging Floridians to beware of so-called “No Kings Day” demonstrations. As the Schumer Shutdown enters its fourth week, the Congressman has warned that these protests could harbor potential pro-Hamas and Antifa elements, which in recent years have been directly linked to riots and anti-American activity. According to reports, there are more than 2,500 events planned across the U.S. on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The anti-American rallies come as Senator Chuck Schumer and Washington Democrats continue to hold the government hostage for political leverage, while everyday Americans bear the cost of their gridlock.

Congressman Jimmy Patronis said, “Washington has been turned into a political circus. Between the Schumer Shutdown, paid agitators, and orchestrated street protests, Floridians should think twice before traveling to D.C. this weekend. What’s unfolding in our nation’s capital isn’t free expression. It’s manufactured chaos. These anti-American demonstrations are being driven by extremist that spread hate, promote anti-Israel rhetoric, and thrive on disorder. Let’s just call these No Kings Day protests what they really are: Hate America Parades. These protests are carefully staged spectacles, funded by people like George Soros who despise our country, and are intentionally designed to divide the country, distract from the failures of the left, and overburden law enforcement at the expense of public safety. The sad truth is that Democrats are keeping the government closed until after these protests, using them as political leverage. It’s reckless, it’s shameful, and it’s putting Americans at risk. My advice to Floridians is simple: stay in the comfort of your own home and enjoy some college football.

Here’s what you need to know to stay safe during the “Hate America Parade” protests:

  • Avoid D.C. Between the Schumer Shutdown and planned protests, it’s not worth the risk.
  • Know the risk. These events often include paid agitators whose goal is to create chaos and make headlines. Don’t get caught in it.
  • Stay informed. Follow law enforcement updates and plan accordingly.
  • Pray for our country. As hardworking Americans begin to feel the impacts of the Schumer Shutdown, pray for their well-being, and also that Democrats will come to their senses and re-open the government.

The Congressman concluded, “The American people deserve leaders who put the country first. The left has traded leadership for activism, and the results speak for themselves: chaos, division, and destruction. My focus will always be keeping Floridians safe and standing up for law-and-order, faith, and freedom. If you’re being affected by the Schumer Shutdown, I encourage you to call Senator Schumer’s office at (202) 224-6542.”
